President Danny Faure has announced the appointment of the board of the 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ Maritime Safety Authority.
The chairperson of the board is Veronique Laporte and the vice‑chairperson is Lt Col Jean Atala.
The other board members are: Capt. Daniel Hoareau, Capt. Christopher Renaud, Capt. Peshala Medagama, Aaishah Molle and Jude Talma.
The board members have been appointed for a three-year period.Ìý
The appointments follow the enactment of the new 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ Maritime Safety Authority Act that came into force on April 1, 2020.
In accordance with Section 11 of the Act, the Appeals Board of the 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ Maritime Safety Authority has also been appointed.
Anne Lafortune will be the chairperson and the two other members are Jean-Paul Marie and Emily Gonthier.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý
The functions of the 91Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ Maritime Safety Authority are to administer, regulate, coordinate and oversee all maritime affairs.
