Some 60 senior doctors, dentists and allied health professionals from the public and private sectors will meet with health policy makers at Eden Bleu Hotel this Saturday November 23 for a high-level dialogue on quality of care in the advanced health care facilities in 91㽶Ƶ.
“It is evident that patients want better quality of care. As leaders of the health sector, we need to discuss and agree on what priority actions we need to take to genuinely and sustainably improve health care quality everywhere in our country,” says Dr Bernard Valentin, principal secretary for health and main organiser of the dialogue.
Confidence in local health services, standards and protocols, key performance indicators, communication with patients, patient safety, infection control and infant mortality will feature prominently on the agenda of the discussions.
“We are now a high income country and we need to reflect that status in all the health services that we render. It cannot be business as usual. We need to shift the paradigm so as to reach the highest standards possible in care quality,” states the principal secretary.
Saturday’s high-level dialogue will run from 8.30am to 2pm.
