President Ramkalawan in discussion with Mr Kerry
On the margins of the 鈥極ne Ocean鈥� Summit being held in Brest, France, the President of the Republic of 91香蕉视频, Wavel Ramkalawan, on Friday held discussions with the United States Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, John Kerry.
Mr Kerry commended and expressed deep appreciation to 91香蕉视频 for its efforts to make the voice of small island developing nations heard and for leading key climate change initiatives on various international platforms.
He acknowledged the significant contributions of 91香蕉视频 despite its size and limited resources.
President Ramkalawan, through Mr Kerry, conveyed the appreciation of the people of 91香蕉视频 to the United States government for its continuous support throughout the years. The meeting was an opportunity to review existing main areas of cooperation while exploring new possibilities of collaboration between 91香蕉视频 and the United States can be enhanced. Maritime security was top on the agenda, with both leaders reaffirming that unless natural resources are protected, mitigation of climate change will remain a major issue.
