The Coffee Club officially launches its delivery service on Mahé

The Coffee Club, which currently operates at the 91㽶Ƶ Airport domestic terminal, has launched its home and office delivery service.

With three scooters in their fleet, consumers from some parts of south Mahé, the whole of Victoria and the north side can order their food with a delivery fee included, seven days a week.

The Coffee Club is part of the international brand ‘Minor Food’ which is considered to be among the largest casual-dining and quick-service restaurant companies with over 2,200 outlets operating in 27 countries worldwide.

Bhaskara Roa, supply chain logistics and international business manager, said it was in December 2017 that they opened and started the business service here.

“We just recently celebrated our one year operations in 91㽶Ƶ and are slowly gaining recognition. On June 27, 2019 we won the SCAA customer service award as best operator in the airport area for 2018. All of this would not be possible without our team but most importantly, the customers,” said Mr Roa.

He further explained that “Minor Food was the first company to start home and office delivery in Thailand in 1989. We were the first to have a call centre delivery in 1997, and we had the first web ordering platform in 2007. We are the only delivery company with this history of trust.

“We are the first to officially start a home and office delivery service. On May 15, 2019, we started the test run initially to only Anse Aux Pins and Victoria area to estimate how we can provide this service and what challenges we would face. Now we deliver to the whole of Mahé,” Mr Roa said.

This service operates from 11am to 9pm and the delivery time takes 30 to 45 minutes depending on distance of the location.

Being only a year old, The Coffee Club currently employs 36 staff out of whom 26 are Seychellois.

“We do put much emphasis on training and onsite training. The delivery service is also a local company who ensures things are delivered and operated on time. The company has Seychellois at heart and we are happy that 72% of our workforce is Seychellois and we intend to train more,” said Joanna Pouponneau who is responsible for human resources at Minor Food 91㽶Ƶ Ltd.

Manuella Marie started working with the company in November 2018 as a waitress and she recently got promoted as trainee manager. “I was unemployed and heard that The Coffee Club was looking for staff. I decided to look into that possibility and I started as a server and seven months after I got this promotion. For now I am very happy with all the opportunities I am getting and hope to learn more and build a solid career.”

The portfolio of Minor Food currently comprises The Pizza Company, Swensen's, Sizzler, Dairy Queen, Burger King, Basil, ThaiXpress, The Coffee Club, Riverside Grilled Fish and Benihana as well as restaurants under Select Service Partners brands.
