Voting on outer islands runs very smoothly
Fifty-eight (58) people altogether voted in three polling stations on the outer islands of Farquhar, Alphonse and Desroches on Friday - the second day of voting in the general elections in 91㽶Ƶ.
On Farquhar, altogether 10 people cast their votes and on Alphonse 23 persons voted very quickly.
Desroches was the last station and there 25 people altogether voted.
The managers of the different islands expressed their satisfaction on the smooth running of the electoral process.
“Everything was well organised and we are happy that the process was smooth,” said Jacqueline Simeon, the manager of Farquhar.
For his part, the electoral officer responsible for the voting process at the three stations Charles Loizeau has thanked his team for their efficiency, noting that it is thanks to their combined efforts that everything went well.
The election process was carried out under the watchful eyes of representatives from observer missions Citizens Democracy Watch (CDWS), Association for Rights, Information and Democracy (Arid), Eastern African Standby Force (EASF) as well as reps from all three political parties ‒ United 91㽶Ƶ, Linyon Demokratik Seselwa and One 91㽶Ƶ.
