Lalyans Seselwa rallies behind United 91香蕉视频

Figurehead of the Lalyans Seselwa political party, Patrick Georges Pillay, yesterday officially announced Lalyans Seselwa鈥檚 endorsement for United 91香蕉视频 and its Presidential candidate Danny Faure, for the upcoming general elections.
Mr Pillay, joined by secretary general of the party Daniel Cesar and the party鈥檚 three National Assembly candidates, namely Neville Quilindo who is standing for Au Cap, Weston Wirtz representing the English River district and William Cadeau, who is contesting the Les Mamelles seat, stated in a press conference yesterday morning at the STC conference room, that he has extended his support for United 91香蕉视频 (US) primarily because it is an offshoot of former President France Albert Rene鈥檚 founding party, 91香蕉视频 People鈥檚 United Party (SPUP).
鈥淲e have met with different people. Myself, as the leader of Lalyans Seselwa (LS), I have met with Mr Alain St Ange (of One 91香蕉视频) and we talked. I have met with Vincent Meriton, party leader for United 91香蕉视频 (US), and finally, collectively, we have decided to support United 91香蕉视频 and Mr Danny Faure,鈥� said Mr Pillay.
鈥淭he first reason that I am joining, and supporting US, is to say thank you to Mr France Albert Rene, who has made me the fearless politician and who is ready to stand through anything, in the interest of 91香蕉视频 and its citizens,鈥� Mr Pillay stated.
Mr Pillay further added that there are two options from which to choose, 鈥渙ne force which is preaching vengeance, hatred and violence, and another which is preaching calm, forgiveness and peace鈥�, although he failed to specify which party is preaching what.
Despite expressing support for US, Mr Pillay, whose nomination as a presidential candidate was rejected by the Electoral Commission of 91香蕉视频 on September 16, affirmed that he will not be pursuing legal action against the commission, and that he remains confident that his candidates will win National Assembly seats in the respective districts for which they are standing.
Reacting to Mr Pillay鈥檚 announcement, secretary general of United 91香蕉视频 (US), Andy Jean-Louis, said Mr Pillay鈥檚 endorsement is welcomed by the party, although they were not necessarily formally informed prior to Mr Pillay鈥檚 public declaration.
鈥淯nited 91香蕉视频 (US) understood that there would be four Presidential candidates and we appreciated it as the more candidates there are, the more options the public have to choose from, and the more the process is democratic. We were confident to go into the elections on our own as US with President Faure as our candidate,鈥� said Mr Jean-Louis.
鈥淏ut, US never objected against other candidates and we learned that Mr Pillay鈥檚 nomination was disqualified and some are even saying that his nomination was torpedoed. We today learned of Mr Pillay鈥檚 endorsement of our candidate,鈥� Mr Jean Louis explained, stating that Mr Pillay鈥檚 endorsement is welcomed as he is a significant political figure and that 鈥淯S appreciates him standing behind US and Mr Faure鈥�.
Although he acknowledged that Mr Pillay met with US party leader Vincent Meriton, Mr Jean-Louis noted that they were not necessarily sure that Mr Pillay would indeed endorse the party, based on the fact that he was also meeting with other political party leaders at the time, specifically presidential candidate Alain St Ange of One 91香蕉视频.
Meanwhile, Mr St Ange has said his party, One 91香蕉视频, has no intention of joining with any other political party for the forthcoming elections.
