2020 is an auspicious year for Le Duc de Praslin, as the hotel inaugurates the latest addition to its rooms’ inventory. The Ocean Wing complex houses 20 contemporary deluxe rooms designed with the modern-day traveller in mind.
The complex is located by the water’s edge adjacent to the beachfront restaurants overlooking the Indian Ocean, with a concept and decor inspired by and incorporating the elements of the sea.
Set in an L-shape with a vast deck that extends to the 16-metre magna pool, the complex offers partial view of the ocean and splendid outdoor living options translating into a hedonistic lifestyle experience.
The top floor harbours a state of the art fitness centre and the sophisticated ‘Spa Elodia’, complete with indoor and outdoor treatment rooms plus an extensive ‘wet’ area. A separate reception area will cater for both in-house and walk-in guests wishing to make use of these two facilities. The Spa Elodia is affiliated with ‘Comfort Zone’, the Italian brand from Parma which specialises in natural / sustainable treatments.
The sleek 55sq.m bedrooms offer elegant lodging and have incorporated the latest technology with functionality as the key element with an impressive array of thoughtful amenities. The ocean theme permeates throughout the décor with a large painted headboard acting as a centerpiece. The sober colours of the white washed furniture adds a calm and reposing feel to the room. All the linen carries the same theme throughout while the decorative pieces evoke beachcomber nostalgia.
The official opening of the new Ocean Wing complex took place yesterday (see separate story on front page) whereby distinguished guests were able to view the Villa 360 Luxe further up the hill together with the showcase ‘pièce de resistance’ in a ceremony and after-party that lived up to the Le Duc de Praslin benchmark!
