The chairman and board of directors have announced the appointment of Aubrey Lesperance as the new deputy chief executive (CEO) of the 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Fisheries Authority (SFA).
Mr Lesperance holds a Post-Graduate Diploma (PGDip) in Enterprise Management from Rhodes Business School, Rhodes University (South Africa), and a Bachelor of Aquaculture (BAqua) from the University of Tasmania (Australia). He is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Rhodes Business School, further enhancing his expertise in strategic management and leadership.
Throughout his tenure at the SFA, Mr Lesperance has played a pivotal role in shaping the country’s aquaculture sector. His contributions include spearheading the establishment of 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ’ first comprehensive aquaculture legislative framework, encompassing the 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Mariculture Master Plan, the 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ National Aquaculture Policy, and the pioneering Aquaculture Regulations of 2020.
Prior to his appointment as deputy CEO, Mr Lesperance was the head of department for Aquaculture, a position he has held since 2020. Mr Lesperance’s appointment takes effect today, April 1, 2025.
