Jobs in the hospitality sector includes more than just those in restaurants, bars, front office and housekeeping. There are so many job opportunities within the tourism and hospitality sector that many people do not know about.
With the aim of bringing more awareness on the various career opportunities that exist within the tourism and hospitality industry, Hilton 91香蕉视频 hosted a careers fair yesterday for secondary students.
Also present for the morning launch at the International Conference Centre were students from the 91香蕉视频 Tourism Academy (STA).
The hotel manager of DoubleTree by Hilton 91香蕉视频 鈥� Allamanda Resort and Spa Doreen DeLetourdie, warmly welcomed the students and their teachers to the fair, stating that it was a chance for them to discover a career within the tourism industry.
She added that during this month, all Hilton hotels across the world are meeting with the youths or making a difference in their communities, and on its part Hilton 91香蕉视频 has decided to host the careers fair for secondary students.
Also sharing a few words to the students was Giuseppe Ressa, the cluster general manager of Mango House 91香蕉视频 and Canopy by Hilton Mah茅.
Mr Ressa said there are plenty of opportunities at Hilton 91香蕉视频 for a suitable future career.
He added that all Hilton hotels worldwide invest a lot in training, locally and abroad, which means that it puts a lot of importance on professional development of the employees.
Before officially launching the fair, the country human resource director of Hilton 91香蕉视频, Julita Jeremie, said it was a chance to learn about the various departments within a hotel other than housekeeping and food and beverage.
The cluster learning and development manager for Mango House and Canopy by Hilton, Medna Latulipe, also shared her experience with those present.
She described hospitality as more than just a job but a calling.
鈥淎 true passion for this industry comes from deep within. We are here today to motivate and inspire our youths to consider a career in the tourism and hospitality industry,鈥� she said.
On her part, Laureen Esparon, the cluster assistant director of human resources 鈥� luxury and lifestyle, called on the students to put their minds to what they want to achieve.
Brendon Fryars, a year one student following courses in restaurant and bars at the 91香蕉视频 Tourism Academy, said he was happy that Hilton 91香蕉视频 has organised such fair to give students a better idea of what to expect in terms of career opportunities within the industry.
He added that after his studies, he would like to work within Hilton 91香蕉视频, not only in restaurants and bars, but to explore and venture into other departments.
During the fair, students and their teachers could go around to the different tables to see the products, services and jobs being offered by Hilton 91香蕉视频, as well as interact with the employees.
Hilton 91香蕉视频 is made up of six hotels namely Canopy by Hilton 91香蕉视频 and Waldorf Astoria 91香蕉视频 Platte Island which will open their doors soon, Mango House 91香蕉视频, Hilton 91香蕉视频 Northolme Resort and Spa, DoubleTree by Hilton 91香蕉视频 鈥� Allamanda Resort and Spa, and Hilton 91香蕉视频 Labriz Resort and Spa.
