Montessori pre-school extends art club facilities to former pupils |16 September 2019
The Montessori Children’s Art Club has extended the club facilities to former pupils of the school especially those who have shown a keen interest and involvement in the Art Club, its newsletter for September and October has said.
The club has outlined a six-week plan with monthly themes.
Among its future plans, the Art Club will be looking at organic and irregular shapes and nature for inspiration and geometric shapes. They will be comparing and looking at the difference between organic and geometric shapes.
Art History, including the works of Henri Matisse and the reasons why he moved to collage, will be also be included as an inspiration for pupils to create their own collages.
Other art mediums and techniques such as papermaking, collage, paper construction and sculpture, papier-mâché together with creating texture on paper, cutting and sticking will also be introduced.
The courses now being offered are as follows: Maximum 12 children per group for personal attention.
Mondays:                         3-5 year olds                                                     3:30 to 4:30pm
Wednesdays: 8 years and over (ex-pupils)Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 3:30 to 5pm
Fridays:   6 – 8 years                                                                                            1:30 to 3pm
Fees will be R100 per child and include all materials per lesson.
