Outgoing United Nations Coordinator for 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ, Christine N. Umutoni paid a farewell visit on the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Gervais Henrie who was accompanied bythe clerk Tania Isaac.
The deputy speaker commended Mrs Umutoni for her contribution in facilitating 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ’ engagement with the various United Nations’ organs and other important partners.
During the meeting, both Mrs Umutoni and Deputy Speaker Henrie discussed the achievements of 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ in areas such as the blue economy, environmental protection, maritime security, sustainable development goals and the peaceful transition of government.
Mrs Umutoni also congratulated 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ on its progress thus far and highlighted the need for more engagement between the National Assembly and the United Nations’ organs.
Mrs Umutoni was accompanied by Sebastien Vauzelle, the RCO economist and Alexander Mancham, UN coordination officer for Mauritius and 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ.
