United States donates 39,780 Covid-19 vaccines to 91㽶Ƶ |24 June 2022

The United States embassy to Mauritius and 91㽶Ƶ has announced the donation of 39,780 doses of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine by the United States government to the people of 91㽶Ƶ.

This vaccine donation is part of the Biden Administration’s global efforts to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

The vaccines successfully arrived at the 91㽶Ƶ Airport via COVAX on Friday, June 17, 2022.

This is the United States’ third Covid-19 vaccine donation to 91㽶Ƶ. A first donation of 35,100 doses of Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine was made in September 2021 and a second consignment of 39,780 doses was donated in December 2021. So far, the U.S. government has successfully donated more than 500 million Covid-19 vaccines to more than 115 countries world-wide, including 91㽶Ƶ and Mauritius.

“We are very proud to continue to share the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine with 91㽶Ƶ,” said U.S. embassy chargé d’affaires Mario Fernandez. “These life-saving vaccines are part of U.S efforts to combat Covid-19 globally, and I encourage everyone to get vaccinated and boosted to protect yourself, your families, and your communities.”
