Six young players at continental tournament
A team of six young players are presently in Nairobi, Kenya where they are taking part at the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and Confederation of Africa Tennis (Cat) African junior tournament which will go on until May 31.
The six players are Travis Gedeon, Mikael Gomme, Matteo Lavigne, Alisha Sharma, Elle Wirtz and Arielle Horpinitch and they will compete in both singles and doubles matches.
They are being accompanied by coaches Nicolaus Leringa and Peggy Chang-Tave, while parent Lyn Lavigne is also part of the delegation.
The 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Tennis Association would also like to thank the National Sports Council (NSC), through its chief executive Jean Larue for supporting tennis in realising this important trip.
The accompanying photo shows members of the delegation before leaving 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ.
Meanwhile, Sports NATION apologises for the mix-up in photos in yesterday’s issue as the tennis photo was mistakenly used to illustrate the French article entitled ‘Zahira Khattab, une enfant de la petite balle, en Malaisie’.
